Can democracy win by going against the will of some of the american people and abolishing slavery? The questions were too big to be answered through political debate and discussion. The battlefield was the only place that could answer those questions.

This one that you have done previously I think the animation depicts how the American Civil War acted as a hurricane that shattered the United States into a collection of a bunch of states in conflict with each other. Furthermore, it ended up transforming the country forever. I think the Civil War was a huge test of the American founding principles and their endurance. The US was founded on the principles of liberty, equality, and democracy. Are all men including blacks and whites truly equal? Do blacks have the same right to liberty as white people? Can democracy win by going against the will of some of the american people and abolishing slavery? The questions were too big to be answered through political debate and discussion. The battlefield was the only place that could answer those questions. In the end, it strengthened the American nation by reaffirming and preserving its founding principles. This is a student comment With the video watced, the tornado seems to symbolize or shows how the Civil War tore up the unification that was fought. In the video, I thought that the people have lost hope for unification, peace, and the beginning of a new country. However, Lincoln wanted to unify and rebuild the broken states by stating, “Secession was wholly impractical because, physically speaking, we cannot separate”. (313) He tried strenghtening us a nation. Just do comment for the second one and relate it to the first one in one to two sentences And this is mine too I think the video trivializes the violation of Mexico’s sovereignty. The Gadsden Purchase just like many other US land acquisition treaties used war, blackmailing, or sabotage to acquire huge expanses of land for meager amounts of money. The US first snatched Texas from Mexico. Then they used filibustering in Mexican territory and undermined their government. No country would even think about selling their land. The only reason that Mexico sold the land for a measly $10 million in the Gadsden Purchase was that the US would have seized it anyway either through filibustering or other political maneuvering. This is another student comment In my opinion my views on the Gadsden purchase hasn’t changed, in fact now that i have watched the video it makes me kinda laugh about the subject because it the two dudes arguing over the two purchases. But i still do think it was a valuable purchase for the United States to buy because it helped resolve conflicts with the Mexican American war. Just do the same comment for the second one and relate it to the first one in one to two sentences …
