PRESENTATION

Complete a PowerPoint presentation on your choice topic/issue in the criminal justice field.  Below are the requirements for both the content and the PowerPoint presentation:

Content:

  • Choose a current and relevant topic or issue in the Criminal Justice field.
  • Research the topic/issue thoroughly using academic resources and the Harrison Library. (See My Library, far left).
  • Take a stance on the topic/issue.
  • Support your topic/issue by using FACTUAL research and information.
  • Propose a solution based on your findings.

Presentation:

  • Content should be formatted in a PowerPoint presentation.
  • Use a minimum of 10 powerpoint slides.
  • Include at least THREE sources in your presentation.
  • Proper APA citations must be included.

 

Discussion Topic

Go to the United States Courts (Links to an external site.) website and select a video of a court case from the Cameras in Courts page. This page allows you to select available videos by court, subject matter, or procedural posture.

After viewing the video, explain the following:

  • What was the case about?
  • Did the trial hold true to your expectations?
  • Who did the courtroom work group consist of?
  • What stage of the trial process did you observe?
  • What was the outcome?
  • What did you learn about the trial process?
