You are assigned a job offer scenario according to your last name. Read the job offer, and then in your initial post, address the prompts below the offers. This will be a post-first discussion; whereas, you won’t see other students’ responses until you make your initial post. The title of your initial post must be the job offer you’re assigned.
Last names ending in A – I complete Job Offer #1:You made it to a third-round interview with a company that you really like, and it is for a job that you want in your degree field. Yet, you just got another offer from a really great company that you would rather work for. The hiring manager at the first company finally just gets to the point and asks: “While we are considering several candidates, we really like you and what you bring to the company. We hope that you feel the same. So, if we can offer you a competitive salary, would you be ready to come to work for us?” For your initial post, you will make a written professional counteroffer. In your counteroffer ensure you address the following:
Compose a list of all your non-negotiables and negotiable factors and weave them into your counteroffer. (You can throw in benefits as a negotiation too).
Respond to the offer in a professional email message and justify your points of the counteroffer (remember to be specific and use your skillset to validate your offer and familiarize yourself with industry salary trends in that field).Helpful resources to use for your counteroffer

In the lecture, we focused on developing the most powerful and effective presentation. It is important to bring all of the skills learned throughout the course to prepare a verbally powerful presentation that uses non-verbal’s to support the presentation and build the connection with the audience. Watch the following Tedx Talks “You Are Contagious” by Vanessa Van Edwards. As you listen, practice the skills of a good listener, and interact with what Van Edwards asks of you. When she encourages you to try what she is describing, do so:
After listening to the 18 minute, 16-second speech, in your initial post, address the following:
Discuss how the interactive piece (assessing how you felt about her hidden hands, facial feedback hypothesis) helped you as a listener engage in what she was saying.
Consider Van Edwards’ research on the use of hand movements and facial expressions, and her carefully planned use of hand movements and facial expressions. Give examples of how you can apply these techniques as you prepare for your speech.
