CSUSM Evolutionary Theory on Human Emotional Development Discussion

As admitted by the authors, each of the evolutionary theories described in Chapter 8 lacks a systematic program of empirical verification. Each theory is a speculation about the relationship between natural selection and human emotional development that is based on a reading of disparate findings in other disciplines. What I’d like you to do in this discussion is provide an overview of your impressions of one of the theories in Chapter 8. Give us your impressions of what seems most persuasive to you about the theory. What seems less persuasive to you? Tell us your rationale for agreeing/disagreeing with aspects of the theory. Finally, try to see if you can add something to the line of argument. Maybe it’s just finding a way to make what’s less persuasive more persuasive. Maybe it’s adding a new layer to what is there.
