discussion 11 7

International law expressly prohibits the use of both chemical and biological weapons. The US has agreed to a policy of “no first use” of chemical weapons, and a policy of “no use” – even in retaliation – regarding biological weapons. Suppose, however, that the US could develop a biological weapon that would make soldiers sick for 3 to 5 days without any long-term effects. What would be the legal and moral considerations governing the use of such weapons? Explain fully your answer.
