Kristen Allen (2012) discusses the 200th anniversary of the publication of the Grimm’s first edition of what are now called fairy tales. According to fairy tale scholar Jack Zipes (2012), “All Disney films should be abolished. They are simplistic, highly sexist, somewhat racist and stupid” (as cited in Allen, para.19).

Is Zipes right?
