Divided We Stand assignment
Prompt 1: Create a table with “Issues” in one column, then the two major parties, or two key candidates in the next two columns. For each issue you can identify, what is the position of the parties or candidates? Is there agreement or overlap on any issues?
Prompt 2: Read the article “If At First You Don’t Secede,” which appeared in The New York Times on November 27, 2000. Think about the timing of the article. As you read, respond to the questions by adding the questions and your answers to your document.
Prompt 3: Write a one-page response for each of the topics you selected. Be sure to cover all the questions and to list your resources in a Works Cited page at the end. This should be part of the “Divided We Stand” document. Submit the document when you are finished with Prompt 3
