Question 1:Review the classmates’ posts and respond to at least one in a minimum of 150 words.?Explain why you agree or disagree. Then, share an example from your professional experience to support your assertions.

Hello everyone,

In your own words, what is the essential information and logic of the author’s article/argument?

This article was about “exploring how and when ethical conflict impairs employee organizational commitment”(Wang, 2021). This was a stress perspective investigation. The article talks about how they performed a 2 wave lagged data investigation of 265 health care workers. The study found that “the indirect, negative effect of ethical conflict on organizational commitment via psychological strain is strongest among employees with high moral identity and low moral efficacy. Interestingly, results show that employees with low moral identity and high moral efficacy do not suffer from ethical conflict. These findings suggest that ethical conflict is differentially harmful to employees and that a more nuanced understanding of its contingent effects is needed”, (Wang, 2021). My interpretation of the logic behind the article and the authors message is that the more an emplyee cares about his or her job, the more stressed out they become. The less that an employee cares

  • about his or her job, the less stressed out they are. Personally, I can understand how this can be true because when I am work and I become stressed, its usually because something is not right the way that it is supposed to be and I’m trying to fix it so that it is correct and done properly.

How do the authors organize the introduction? Do the subheadings and article’s discussion follow the “blueprint and map” outlined in the introduction?

The article discusses the opioid epidemic in Los Angeles County during COVID-19 pandemic. The data collected was gathered through the Los Angeles Coroner Office and the investigation around the increase of drug overdose and how they’re related to the stay-at-home order.  The introduction of the article gave a clear understanding of the issue as well as the methods used to determine its validity. The blue prints of the introduction aligned with the overall discussion of the article.

The objective was to determine other factors as well, demographics was present during the introduction as well. According to Kelley (2021), the increase in opioid related death possibly brought on by the stay-at-home-order issues march 2020, in hopes to decrease the spread of COVID-19, caused an increase in death amongst not only the Hispanic and African American population, but a spike in Caucasians as well.

As you reflect on what you have learned about writing an introduction, what might you do differently in writing introductions as you progress through the dissertation process?

In reviewing this introduction, I feel the article was written well, I am too familiar with the aftermath COVID-19 has caused to the addiction population. I have witnessed first-hand an increase in death related to opioid abuse/ misuse and individuals accidently overdosing due to the increase in mental health problems associated with substance abuse. I would have collected data from agencies that provide pain management, MAT services, and harm reduction and token into account how they administered their medication during the pandemic and researched if there were any links to the increase in overdoses, since in some cases addicts were handling their own medications.
