1.In a one-page essay, you can propose your research topic and plan for the final research paper. You should discuss 1) your topic and major research question RELATED TO ORGANIZATION; 2) significance of this topic; 3) your main ideas and arguments; 4) basic materials or evidence to support your arguments; and 5) specific sources to gather data or empirical evidence. Each component is worth 2 points. A cover page is not needed, and on the very top you can use a smaller font to show your name and the Discussion Section of SOC 151. Citations/references can be optional or you can list few key entries on an additional page. The format in other aspects is largely similar to that for the research paper (see below). 2.? Final research paper  
• Each student needs to identify a specific topic on organizations and raise an interesting research question. The paper should generate thoughtful insights on related phenomena.

It should have a cover page, page number (except on the cover page), and formal citations and references. The abstract is not needed. Writing should be polished.
• The text should be a maximum of 4 double-spaced pages, in 12 point font and with 1 inch margins. It is optional to add 1-2 tables or graphs on an additional page at the end.
• There should be at least 6-8 references and half of them are expected to be peer-reviewed publications. References can be listed on an additional page.   • The paper should consist of the following components:
    • What is your research topic?
    • Why is this topic or your research question interesting or important?
    • What are your empirical data and evidence? Are they rich and solid?
    • What are your arguments and analyses? Are they logical and convincing?
    • What are your conclusions?
