PART 1

our assignment is to identify a hypothesis or problem that you are interested. Some examples of a hypothesis or problems that could be researched are:

  • Is it better to buy a used car vs. new
  • Land line phones will be out of existence by 2020
  • Elderly are using social media at an increasing rate
  • Crime in America is increasing
  • Quality of education is decreasing in America

In a 1-2 page paper, address the following;

  • Identify a specific hypothesis or problem.
  • Conduct research on your hypothesis or problem to ensure that data, to support completion of BI activities, can be located or created.
  • Explain in 1-2 paragraphs why this subject is worth proving.
  • Explain in 1-2 paragraphs how you intend to approach proving out this hypothesis or solving this problem.

PART 2

Companies exist that are in the business of helping other companies, also known as their clients, manage their DW and analytics. Conduct research to locate companies within the DW industry, such as Teredata, to write a paper outlining your thoughts regarding their effectiveness.

Some additional context to consider in your 1-2 page paper:

  • What do the clients; identify at least three, of your selected company say about how their business practices have changed as a result of utilizing the resources provided?
  • What skills would a user need to become proficient in the tools provided by your chosen company? Is the learning curve excessive or appropriate for the rapid pace of business today?
  • How effective is your selected company within the DW industry?
  • What future endeavors does your selected company have planned to increase leverage in their given industry?
