- Explain how the diagnosis of mental illness is not an objective process, but rather a subjective one influenced by sociological factors such as race, gender, social class, and sexual orientation. In your response, reflect on Erving Goffman’s critique of mental institutions.

- How does the information in these fact sheets relate to Goffman’s critique of mental health diagnosis?
