Final Project: Curriculum and Strategy for Success Planner

This week, you will complete and submit a final version of your Curriculum and Strategy for Success Planner. Note: Use the Template provided in the Learning Resources to complete your planner – do not create a new document. In previous weeks, you were encouraged to enter information in particular sections of your Planner. As you prepare to submit your final Planner, revisit what you’ve documented so far, and make revisions and additions as needed. Your Planner should include the following information:

  • Academic Goals at Walden
    • List in this section at least three specific goals related to your academic pathway while completing your program of study at Walden (e.g., plan to take an internship or field experience course). You are encouraged to include as many goals as you find useful and necessary, but at a minimum, include three.
    • Drawing from the Learning Resources and assignments you completed during the course, include at minimum a 1-paragraph written summary of steps you can take to achieve your goals.
    • Include a Reference list on this page formatted in APA style for resources used.
  • Career Goals and Employment Resources
    • List in this section at least three specific employment/career resources (website URLs, articles, books, etc.) that you believe will be useful to you for your career. You are encouraged to list as many resources as you find important and useful, but at minimum, include three. Be sure to format the resources listed in APA style.
    • List in this section at least three specific tips or important insights you have gained related to careers and job searching in your field of interest.
    • Drawing from the Learning Resources and assignments you completed during the course, provide at minimum a 1-paragraph written summary of steps you can take to achieve your career goals.
    • Include a Reference list on this page formatted in APA style for resources used in the summary that are not included in the Employment/Career Resource list.
  • Post-Graduate Studies Goals and Resources
    • List in this section at least three resources (website URLs, articles, books, etc.) related to graduate studies that you might find useful if you decide to pursue post-graduate studies in the future. You are encouraged to list as many resources as you find important and useful, but at minimum, include three. Be sure to format the resources listed in APA style.
    • Drawing from the Learning Resources and assignments you completed during the course, provide at minimum a 1-paragraph written summary of specific steps you could take to achieve post-graduate study goals that you learned from this course were you to pursue post-graduate studies.
    • Include a Reference list on this page formatted in APA style for resources used in the summary that are not included in the Post-Graduate Resources list.
  • Academic and Professional Writing Resources
    • List in this section at least three resources (website URLs, articles, books, etc.) related to academic and writing skills (i.e., APA format and style, general writing resources) that you believe will be useful to you for your academic and career development. Be sure to format the resources listed in APA style.
    • List in this section at least three insights or APA style tips related to academic and professional writing you find particularly useful. You are encouraged to list as many resources as you find important and useful, but at a minimum, include three.
  • Additional Goals and Resources
    • List and describe at least three additional goals, tasks, activities, and accomplishments you would like to pursue related to achieving academic and career success (e.g., applying to specific professional organizations, seeking out volunteer opportunities in your community, contributing to Walden’s mission of positive social change, networking). You are encouraged to include as many goals as you find useful and necessary, but at a minimum, include three.
    • Drawing from the Learning Resources and assignments you completed during the course, provide at minimum a 1-paragraph written summary of specific steps that you can take to accomplish these goals. Include a Reference list on this page formatted in APA style for resources used.
  • Curriculum Plan
    • Map out your curriculum plan to demonstrate which courses and other experiences (e.g., field experiences, internships, conferences) will enable you to earn your bachelor’s degree and achieve your academic and professional goals. Use the following resources as references for completing this table: unofficial copy of your current transcript, academic requirements report, transfer credit evaluation(s), your Walden academic advisor, and your preliminary program of study. In your map, be sure that you are listing courses in numerical sequence (e.g., take 2000-level lower level courses before 3000-level upper level courses) and also take into account required prerequisites for any courses. Be sure your credits total at least 181 credits.
    • Note: This chart is for your planning purposes only. It is not meant as an official advising document. Your plans may change during your program of study. Consult with your academic advisor for official planning purposes.
    • Put courses or experiences that you have already taken in italics to differentiate those courses or experiences from future ones.

Note: Consider this Planner a “working document” that you can fill in as you complete courses throughout your program of study. For information regarding how your Planner will be evaluated for the purposes of this course, please review the Grading Rubric located in the Course Information area of the course.

To submit your completed Assignment for review and grading, do the following:

  • Please save your Assignment using the naming convention “WK6Assgn+last name+first initial.(extension)” as the name.
  • Click the Week 6 Assignment Rubric to review the Grading Criteria for the Assignment.
  • Click the Week 6 Assignment link. You will also be able to “View Rubric” for grading criteria from this area.
  • Next, from the Attach File area, click on the Browse My Computer button. Find the document you saved as “WK6Assgn+last name+first initial.(extension)” and click Open.
  • If applicable: From the Plagiarism Tools area, click the checkbox for I agree to submit my paper(s) to the Global Reference Database.
  • Click on the Submit button to complete your submission.
