GCU Health & Medical Organizational Culture Discussion

Thank you for sharing. Indeed, the issue of organizational culture is of great importance to nurse leaders. Nurse leaders are always committed to initiating and sustaining organizational culture that promote quality of care and patient safety. An example of such culture is open communication. A culture of open communication in an organization allows employees and leaders to freely exchange ideas and opinions. There are also cultural barriers which can hinder progress in an organization. For instance, there are still organizations that promote experience over skills. As such, most of the organizational leaders are older. This possess a challenge to innovation and creativity at the organization. Younger persons bring new perspectives in organizational leadership which can promote performance in an organization. Hence, some of these organizational cultures can stifle progress.
