This assignment introduces you to the history of resistance in the making of the modern African Diaspora. Slavery was not a one-way street. Black people actively and continuously resisted slavery and shaped the world in which they found themselves, in the process transforming both themselves and the world. Resistance to slavery was widespread and appeared in a variety of forms. The link takes you to a lecture by Dr. Vincent Brown, in which he discusses the topic.
