It seems Congress can’t agree on anything these days, right?

One thing just about everybody can agree on, though, is that we all hate robocalls!

For this assignment, take a look at H.R. 3375, the Stopping Bad Robocalls Act. (Wait, there are good robocalls? I think they probably wanted to avoid talking about robocalls from emergency management authorities – there’s a tornado spotted in your area, etc. I think got a dozen of them from the City of Houston about heat advisories over the summer).

Write an essay about this bill 2-5 pages. Make sure your essay includes the following information.

What would the law proposed by this bill do? What problem was it trying to solve?

To what committee or committees was it referred? What’s the bill’s current status?

Who seems to be for this? Who seems to be against it?

What do you think about it? If you were a Congressman or Senator, how would you vote?
