How has society shaped you to be the person you are today?

You will have to use the following terms:

1. Social structure= any relatively stable pattern of social behavior 

2. Beliefs= specific thoughts or ideas that people hold to be true

3. looking-glass self= Cooley´s term for self-image based on how we think others see us

4. role= behavior expected of someone who holds a particular status

5. out-group= a social group toward which a person feels a sense of competition or opposition

6.social control= attempts by society to regulate people´s thoughts and behavior 

7. social mobility= a change in position within the social hierarchy 

8. gender stratification= the unequal distribution of wealth, power, and privilege between men and women 

9. racism= the belief that one racial category is innately superior or inferior to another 

10. global stratification= patterns of social inequality in the world as a whole
