Art Unit VIII Discussion Board Question (VC)

Unit VIII Discussion Board Question

Identify an assignment in this course that had a positive impact on you. How will you be able to apply the knowledge or skills you learned from it to your life?

I have to comment on my classmates discussion board question this is what they wrote: (VC)

The power point project had the biggest impact on me. I did not have much of an understanding of art prior to this class. Working through this project has given me the ability to truly view art and things around me. The project taught me how to explain the things I see and feel. It has also helped me to better understand that we will not all see the same thing or feel the same inspiration. Using my project as inspiration I visited the Dali Museum for my Unit VII assignment. Using what I learned in the power point made the museum visit a better experience. I was able to understand and interpret the artwork in a much deeper meaning. I believe using some of the art concepts in everyday life will help we to better express myself. I was very hesitant when this class began, but I really enjoyed it. I feel that I have learned a lot from the course work, my class mates, and especially Professor Jones. I would like to thank you all and wish you the best.

HY 1120 Unit III Discussion Board Question:

Do you feel the term world police, starting under the Roosevelt Corollary, is still an appropriate description of the United States? Why, or why not?

I have to answer to my classmates discussion board question this is what they wrote:

I believe that world police still accurately describes the Untied States. The US has the strongest military in the world and they are able to stand up to any country. I believe that the US upholds the standards for international law and continues to maintain allies with various countries. The US has assisted several countries during time of conflict to assist with developing a reasonable resolution. One example would be when the US provided foreign aid to Israel and Palestine. Another would be anti-terrorism measures that US engages in. Discuss how the concepts in this course can be related or compared to real-world situations like political issues of today’s time.

I have to comment on my classmates discussion Board Question this is what they wrote

This question is similar to Unit 1 when discussing why it is important to remember history. The events that were discussed in this class occurred in real-life; remembering what has occurred and the outcomes of those events can help us in the future. Looking at a previous event or time in history can aid us in making educated decisions in current real-world situations. I feel that the United States is currently divided politically like never before. It has been said that we [the United States] has entered the fourth great crisis of our national life. The first two were the American Revolution and the Civil War, and the third took place from 1929 through 1945, as the nation was threatened by economic collapse and foreign war. As a nation (and on a smaller scale, us as individuals), it would behoove us to look at history and the concepts discussed in this course to see how we can solve our problems. As I stated in my Unit 1 post, we can either learn from the past in hopes of improving the future, or be doomed to repeat past mistakes.
