Imagine you have been asked to present in a town hall meeting about the crime that is affecting your local area. You are to present one solution or tip that will help reduce at least one of the types of crimes that you have identified as being an issue in your community. Conduct research on the crimes that are most common in your city, county, or state. Address the following in your PowerPoint presentation.

  • Identify the top two types of crimes that are affecting your local community (city, county, or state). Provide data that supports your findings.
  • Explain how these crimes are handled within the justice system. Describe how the criminal justice system interacts (provides support, restitution, etc.) with the victims of these crimes.
  • Discuss how victims are impacted by these crimes (mentally, financially, etc.) and how the community is also impacted by these crimes.
  • Provide one solution or tip to help reduce this type of crime in your area.

Your PowerPoint Presentation must be at least 10 slides in length, not including title or reference slides, and follow APA Style format. All slides must have accompanying speaker notes. Support your presentation with a minimum of one graphic or image. Use a minimum of two references in your PowerPoint Presentation.
