  2. What is the disease? Define it.
  3. What are the symptoms of the disease?
  4. What are the causes?
  5. What is the diagnosis? How was it found?
  6. Describe the prognosis and treatments (i.e. drugs, surgery).
  7. What body system(s) and organs are affected and specifics on how they affect lifestyle.
  8. What is the life expectancy of a person with the disease? Explain.
  9. Discuss the latest research that is being conducted concerning the disease.
  10. Give your own hypothesis for a cure for the disease.

Guidelines:

  • Length should be between 5 and 7 pages long, not including cover page or reference pages.
  • APA format, including citations and references:
  • There should be no direct quotes in an APA research paper. It should all be paraphrased, put into your own words, and then cited.
  • The first paragraph indicating why you have chosen the topic should be the only section that is in first person point of view.
  • Use this site for additional help: https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/section/2/10/
  • 1 inch margins.
  • 12 point, Times New Roman font, double spaced.
  • After uploading to turnitin, your paper will be scored for similarity. Anything above 20% similarity should be worked on further and uploaded again before the due date. Please email your instructor for more help with this.
  • Over 20% similarity and/or no references will result in an automatic zero on the paper. NOTE: Turnitin is a tool for faculty that students have an opportunity to benefit from if they choose to, however, if they choose not to use it effectively then that is their own decision. With that being said, Turnitin takes time to generate the similarity report and can take up to 24 hours. If you wait until the last day and/or minute, etc., to submit, you may not get a similarity report and are still subject to the similarity % requirement above
