PROF 450 BSC Comparing Job Offers Before Making a Decision Project

PART A 

We covered monetary and non-monetary benefits and the importance of reviewing and comparing them before accepting a job offer. For this discussion, you will be deciding which job is right for you. After reading the job offers, in your initial post, answer the following:

Calculate your out-of-pocket expenses monthly and annually as it pertains to your life. (You’ll need to figure out the cost of gas, childcare if applicable, healthcare/medical premiums)

State the job offer you selected (i.e., Job Offer 2) and explain in detail why the one you chose is more beneficial for your lifestyle.

  • List two benefits you would add to the compensation package and justify the reasons as to why they would be beneficial for your lifestyle (Ex: tuition reimbursements, Dental, vision, gym membership, etc.). 
  • Job Offer 1: The salary is $43,000. Medical premiums monthly are $200 for a single plan and $425 for a family plan. Childcare is on-site and $100.00 a week per child. You have Personal Time Off (PTO) earning 2 days a month along with 2 weeks’ vacation. The job is located 12 miles from your house.  The company has a 401K but, no employer matching. Possibility of remote work.
  • Job Offer 2: The salary is $55,000. Medical premiums monthly are $220 for a single plan and $450 for a family plan. If you need childcare, you have to find a local facility and pay for it out of your own pocket. You have 5 sick days and 2 weeks’ vacation a year (it increases with longevity). The job is located 5 miles from your house. The company has a 401K with an employer matching up to 3% of your base salary. At this time, no remote opportunities. 

Job Offer 3: The salary is $30,000. Medical premiums monthly are $100 for a single plan and $375 for a family plan. Opportunity to opt-out of medical, thus receiving $100 extra a month into your paycheck. The company will pay 50% of your childcare each week. You have 10 personal days plus 2 weeks’ vacation a year. The job is remote 2 days a week.  Possibility of 100% remote after 2 years. The company has a 401K with an employer matching up to 5% of your base salary. The job is located 9 miles from your house.

You will complete your PROF450 – Job Scenario Essay.

In the lecture, has been focused on seeking and providing feedback so that a speaker is able to revise and improve an important presentation.  This feedback process demands the “audience” to pay attention to the verbal and nonverbal communication.

In your discussion post, as the role of the audience who has been asked to provide feedback on areas the presentation that could be adjusted and improved to meet the audience’s need, provide the speaker with some feedback.

Give at least 1 example of the speaker’s strength as a speaker, both verbally and nonverbally. Explain how this strength benefited the speech delivery

Discuss at least 1 improvement the speaker could make to ensure a stronger verbal delivery of the presentation. Give examples of how this verbal delivery could be improved
