Public Person Homework
Learn about a public person (who I would be able to look up) who has at least three marginalized identities (e.g., a Latina woman with a disability, or a gay, Black, immigrant man). Explain how the intersection of those identities (also called “positionality”) enabled this person to produce what they have in the world.
To turn in here:
1. The name of the person you’re learning about.
2. Which three identities you’re examining.
3. telling me about this person
4. describing how those identities worked together and positioned this person be who they are and to accomplish the work they did. (Be sure to integrate a grand theory into this portion.)
Examples of people you could learn about include but are not limited to:
Dolores Huerta, Keah Brown, James Baldwin, Tammy Duckwort
