The lecture discussed the dangers of ethnocentrism. When we fail to share and analyze stories across the globe, we narrow our sociological lens. Ethnocentrism is a dividing factor that contributes to global inequities. Displaying ethnocentrism in the workplace can cause a hostile and unsafe work environment. It can also hinder us from exploring different ideas that may enhance our workplaces.

- Examine a time when you experienced a situation involving ethnocentrism, either in your personal or professional life.
- Discuss the ramifications and potential harm this situation had on the people and/or organizations involved.
