UAEU Health & Medical Non Communicable Disease in Dubai Presentation
As announced by WHO, Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) kill 41 million people each year, equivalent to 71% of all deaths globally. Cardiovascular diseases account for most NCD deaths, or 17.9 million people annually, followed by cancers (9.3 million), respiratory diseases (4.1 million), and diabetes (1.5 million). The rise of NCDs has been driven by a group of risk factors. The epidemic of NCDs poses devastating health consequences for individuals, families, and communities, and threatens to overwhelm health systems. Recent statistics in Dubai showed that NCDs are the main causes of mortality, in addition, there is high prevalence of NCDs risk factors.
