Do a web search on print NEWS media on “immigration” from a mainstream news network (FOX, CNN, MSNBC, CBS, or ABC).  Peruse the articles and find a short except that you can share with the class. Make sure to provide a link of the complete article.  It may take reading several articles to find one that is the type you can successfully analyze.

Step 2

Critically assess the media’s coverage of immigration in light of what you have learned in this class about race, class, and gender.  How does race, citizenship, gender, and class frame the media’s coverage of immigration? Deeply analyze it and try to unpack hidden assumptions in light of the readings in this class.
