Criteria one can use to evaluate alignment between data collection methods and other research components such as the problem, purpose, research questions, and design are many and some of the criteria to name but a few are:
1). Ensure that both data collection and problem, purpose, research questions, and design are qualitative, quantitative, or mixed method.
2). Ensure that the article is scholarly in nature.
3). Ensure that is it peer review.
4). Ensure that the article is properly cited, and referenced.
5). Ensure that the article has an abstract, methods, analysis, sections.
The extent to which my newly acquired research knowledge and skills can support my role as an agent of positive social change is that I am able to evaluate research article, know the difference between qualitative, quantitative, and mixed method. Also, my newly acquired research knowledge and skills will help me in the other research class I have to take in regards to how to do an annotated bibliography.
