Week 3 Assignment: Analyze Local Planning Issues
Write a paper about a topic of interest to you concerning long-term urban/regional strategic planning issues in your home town. Be sure to include the following components:
- Analyze the political, economic and social issues of the problem.
- Examine the administrative response and the establishment of agenda for priorities.
- Collect on-line public and non-public documents on the process of planning at the local and regional levels to support your analysis.
- Discuss the frequency of updates of the planning documents and processes updated and tell whether or not there is a regular body convened to authorize and approve the planning process, or is it purely administrative.
- Summarize what you think are the relative merits and weaknesses of either approach.
Support your paper with a minimum of five (5) scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included.
Length: 5-7 pages not including title and reference pages
Your paper should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts that are presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards. Be sure to adhere to Northcentral University’s Academic Integrity Policy.
