You’ll be watching the movie Babies which is a 2010 documentary tracking the first year of life of four infants from different cultures (Japan, Mongolia, Namibia, USA). It’s adorable, and it demonstrates many of the milestones, learning processes, and behaviors/abilities we’ve discussed in class. This will give you a chance to observe some of these concepts in real world settings, and a chance to think about the way culture influences development. The movie’s cute, have fun with it.

Be aware: you will need to search for, and read, a (very short) article in order to complete the assignment.

In order of appearance:

Ponijoa from Namibia (female)

Bayar from Mongolia (male)

Mari from Japan (female)

Hattie from USA (female)
