Overview

As noted in your readings and supplemental material found within Module#4, we have learned much about special populations. More importantly, you had time to closely vet and map compensation needs for special populations. Special populations are defined by several factors. Meaning, that we can incorporate all types of genders, LGBTQ+, minorities, and varied generations (gen z’s, baby boomers, millennials). It is also considered a term that is generally used to refer to a disadvantaged group. The precise definition will vary by entity and jurisdiction, as it may refer to individuals who are disabled or those from economically disadvantaged families.

Application

This week, you are going to start incorporating your selected organization by considering the following:

1. Based on the reading materials (textbook and web-based materials), conduct a SWOT analysis of the corporation that you are researching.  Analyze how the corporation uses strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats analyses to develop its benefit packages with the needs of “special employees” in mind.  For instance, think about the organization’s overall gaps pertaining to sustaining and incorporating special populations. If there are gaps, start thinking about and present ways in which this area could be developed more.
