When communication problems are analyzed, it is important to consider all of the process’s components: the sender, the message, the receiver, feedback, and the context. Assessment of communication should include these factors with the understanding that communication is rarely perfect. If you were a team leader, what might you routinely include in your assessment of the team’s communication? Develop a checklist of critical elements to assess. Explain why you chose these elements and the positive/negative impact on patient outcomes. (Use the discussion rubric located in the “Rubrics”)
