I’m working on a sociology multi-part question and need the explanation and answer to help me learn.

For this post, I would like you to consider Durkheim’s concept of anomie. Durkheim seems to think of and use this term as an individual problem, but I also wonder if it can be thought of as a collective problem/feeling as well? I would like you to consider this idea – can we experience collective anomie? Furthermore, I would like you to think about the applicability of anomie today. Is this a useful term that can be applied to people living in modern societies? Is it a term that applies more to some places today than others (i.e., East vs West or global North vs South)?
