02. .025 points, At least 10 words, Note the word count change > Macro-level sociology looks at large-scale social processes, such as social stability and change. Micro-level sociology looks at small-scale interactions between individuals, such as conversation or group dynamics. Why is it accurate to say Suicide (1897) by Émile Durkheim offers a more macro analysis of society than Talcott Parsons?

03. .025 points, At least 25 words, Note the word count change > Read the “Introduction” to Ghostly Matters (1997) by Avery Gordon, as well as the “Forward” by Janice Radway here. (I personally think that this book is the most important work of sociological theory to ever have been written). What is Avery Gordon’s main theoretical complaint with the way sociologists analyze things? Be sure to reference Avery’s Introduction to her book or Radway’s “Forward” when formulating and explaining and defending your response or else I won’t be able to count your answer. This “Introduction” and “Forward” is going to keep popping up from now until the very last question on the very last assignment. So don’t skip it if you are trying to get the maximum number of points in this course.

In order to get credit for your answer you need to reference a specific member of the Trinty Church featured in Hell House (2001), again assigned just above Q16 on A13, and be sure to explain and defend your response, because, like Q04 on this assignment, there is definitely a right answer to this question and a wrong answer.

  • 06. .025 points, At least 25 words, Note the word count change > Émile Durkheim, introduced on A13, argued that suicide was a sign that a society had serious social problems. Would Avery Gordon agree with this idea based on what you learned about her ideas in Q03? There is a right answer to this question and a wrong one, so be sure to explain and defend your response.

There are many ways to read/listen to/watch Welcome to Pinepoint so I posted some screenshots below with some suggestions. Once you read/listen to/watch it just tell me who is the person who is the most haunted in this story and why? Define “haunted” as Avery Gordon would, see Q03 above. And, as always, be sure to explain and defend your response.
