Think about a time that you gave to an organization. Which of the 8 mechanisms drove your giving (one or more of the mechanisms on the list). Did the organization you gave to harness your motivation to request and acquire your gift? If so, explain how. If not, explain how they could have done so. Which category of donor (habitual, thoughtful, etc.) would you be placed into? How could an organization “upgrade” your donor type?

The Classmate which you need to rely(100-200 words)

Every year, my family and I donate. Since we are Muslims, it is mandatory in our religion to donate and provide for the people in need. I would not necessarily call the area I donate to “an organization” but I am sure that there are many organizations regarding that section of donation. Once every year we have a month where we fast called Ramadan. In Ramadan, all Muslims must donate some kind of charity to people in need or family in need. My family has been donating to India for many years now. The donating is called Zakat and the mechanism that best fits this source is “Awareness of Need.” I feel that the Awareness of Need mechanism best matches this source because donation can contribute to creating shelters for the poor, provides food, and can help with many social and psychological needs. I donate to the people that are in poverty and low income family members in India. We also donate to our mosques in Orange County. The donation was harnessed and our donation was used to feed many orphan children, families in poverty, and it also helped individuals and their certain lifestyles that required money for social needs. The donor category is under the Thoughtful category. Our holy month makes us feel empathy for those who are starving and cannot obtain food. This makes us think about their lifestyles and this drives Muslims into helping them eat and survive on a day to day basis. An organization could definitely upgrade my donor type because more people could think about donating to them and supporting their needs. Organizations could also help average communities help out communities around them that are in need.
