Week 3 Discussion – Social Media Marketing

Learning Objectives Covered

  • LO 02.02 – Identify and explain the purpose of social media marketing and how it can enhance a campaign

Career Relevancy

In your career as a designer you must understand what social media is and how to use it to build upon the target audience exposure in a multi-media campaign. Including social media, promotional materials can help expand the message and help to reach a different part of a target audience. In addition, including social media to create a more detailed message in a marketing campaign can even help create a secondary target audience.

Effective advertising is an important part of capturing the attention of the target audience. It is not enough to only promote a campaign through print advertising (billboards, flyers, postcards, packaging etc.), Including social media, promotional materials can help expand the message. Using graphic design messages help to capture your reader’s attention and steer them toward the message you want them to remember. According to Pew research “Facebook remains the most widely used social media platform by a relatively healthy margin: some 68% of U.S. adults are now Facebook users” (March, 2018). Using social media is your chance to build upon the strategy and to get the message out to a larger target audience.

(Links to an external site.)Next, discuss the following questions:

  • What is social media marketing and why do advertisers use it?
  • What are the design challenges of social media marketing and how does format differ from that of print and other traditional forms of advertising design?

In your response, be sure to include at least one example of a successful social media marketing ad and discuss why you think it is successful.

For your citation, you might use articles that discuss and show examples of successful social media marketing and advertising.

Your initial and reply posts should work to develop a group understanding of this topic. Challenge each other. Build on each other. Always be respectful but discuss this and figure it out together.

Reply Requirements

Per the Due Dates and Participation Requirements for this course, you must submit 1 main post of 150+ words, 1 IWG citation, and reference, as well as 2 follow-up posts of 50+ words. Responses can be addressed to both your initial thread and other threads but must be your own words (no copy and paste), each reply unique (no repeating something you already said), and substantial in nature. Remember that part of the discussion grade is submitting on time (20%) and using proper grammar, spelling, etc. (20% per post).

The Las Vegas Restaurant purchased a quantity of a special variety of apple that Sam’s Apple Company grew in an orchard just outside of Las Vegas. The Las Vegas Restaurant uses the apples for a special dessert it is famous for. The apple was of a type that kept well in cool storage. The Las Vegas Restaurant’s purchase represented approximately 25 percent of Sam’s Apple Company’s total harvest each year. Initially, the Las Vegas Restaurant and Sam’s Apple Company entered into a formal, written purchase agreement for each year’s crop, delivered on a quarterly basis. However, over time the agreement became less and less formal. Eventually it consisted at first of a telephone order for the “usual supply,” and later to an arrangement whereby Sam’s Apple Company would simply deliver the normal quantity to the Las Vegas Restaurant each quarter, and in due course would receive payment at the going market price for the crop. This latter arrangement carried on for a period of about ten years. In the last year, the president of Sam’s Apple Company, Sam, fell seriously ill and retired. He was replaced by Heather. Sam had been responsible for the original contracts with Las Vegas Restaurant and had made the later informal arrangements for the supply of apples. Sam informed Heather of the arrangement. The General Manager of the Las Vegas Restaurant, Steve, had become good friends with Sam, but he too retired and never met Heather. The new General Manager of the Las Vegas Restaurant, David, was not aware of the informal arrangement between Sam and the Las Vegas Restaurant. Soon after taking over, David decided that for the current year he would purchase the Las Vegas Restaurant’s apple requirements from another orchard. Over the course of the summer, Heather heard a rumor that an orchard in California had acquired a contract to supply apples to the Las Vegas Restaurant, but she did nothing to investigate the matter further. In the fall of that year, Heather delivered the usual supply of apples in large pallet boxes to the Las Vegas Restaurant and placed them on the receiving dock. No employees were on the dock at the time, but Heather did not find the fact unusual, as Sam had said that was typically the case when he made his deliveries in the past. Heather was not concerned about identification of the crop as each pallet box bore the company name and address as well as the variety and quantity. David noticed the apples on the receiving dock some time later on the day of delivery. He decided to write a letter to Sam’s Apple Company requesting the company to take back the apples, but it was Friday, so he waited until Monday of the next week. Heather received the letter on Wednesday, some six days after delivery of the apples to the Las Vegas Restaurant. During the six-day period the apples had remained in the hot sun and had deteriorated from the exposure. Heather refused to take back the apples and the Las Vegas Restaurant refused to pay for them. Consider all the elements of contract law. Also consider what you learned about “course of dealing” from your reading. Prepare a paper that addresses whether each element of contract law is satisfied in this case and what you believe should happen based on the course of dealing between Sam’s Apple Company and the Las Vegas Restaurant. What is the probable outcome if Sam’s Apple Company should sue the Las Vegas Restaurant for the value of the apples?

mth410 week 2 business profits

I did this assignment but got a horrible grade and the professor said that I can re submit for a better grade. I need someone to fix mine so it follows the directions. Here is the prompt. I have the Excl with the work done, and a 4 page paper.

The research firm LL Research collected data from 200 client businesses. They want to determine how the businesses compare among four variables:

2015 Profit in millions of dollars
2016 Profit in millions of dollars
2015-2016 Two-Year Change in Daily Average Customer Visits

Two-Year Average Number of Employees

Data collected for the sample of 200 businesses is contained in the file named Businesses, linked at the bottom of the page. Be sure to use all 200 data points.

Managerial Report
Prepare a report (see below) using the numerical methods of descriptive statistics presented in this module to learn how each of the variables contributes to the success of a client’s business. Be sure to include the following three items in your report.

  1. Compute descriptive sample statistics (mean, median, two quartiles Q1 and Q3 (using QUARTILE.EXC), minimum, maximum, range, interquartile range, sample standard deviation, and coefficient of variation) for each of the four variables along with an explanation of what the descriptive statistics tell us about the client businesses.
  • In this case, which measure of central tendency would be best for this application? Explain why.
  • Which measure of variation would be best for this application? Explain why.
  • How can one use the above descriptive statistics to understand the businesses better?
  • Which graphical displays of data would you use to help understand or complement the above descriptive statistics? Explain how and why.

Note: QUARTILE.EXC works only for Excel 2010 or newer.

  1. Compute the percent change in profit from 2015 to 2016 for each business.
  • What would the percent change tell us in this application?
  • Then use the z-score to determine which businesses were outliers with respect to percent change in profit.
  • How would identifying outliers be useful in this application?
  • What advice might you give to businesses that are outliers?
  • How else would you determine outliers?
  1. Compute the sample correlation coefficient, showing the relationship between percent change in profit and each of the other two variables (2015-2016 Two-Year Change in Daily Average Customer Visits and Two-Year Average Number of Employees).
  • Explain what the correlation coefficients tell us about the three pairs of relationships. Use tables, charts, or graphs to support your conclusions.

Write a report that adheres to the formatting and APA expectations outlined on the Citing & APA Resources page (Links to an external site.) in the CSU-Global Writing Center. As with all written assignments at CSU-Global, you should have in-text citations and a reference page.

Submit your Excel file in addition to your report.

  1. The paper must be written in third person.
  2. Your paper should be four to five pages in length (counting the title page and references page) and cite and integrate at least one credible outside source. The CSU-Global Library (Links to an external site.) is a great place to find resources.
  3. Include a title page, introduction, body, conclusion, and a reference page.
  4. The introduction should describe or summarize the topic or problem. It might discuss the importance of the topic or how it affects you or society as a whole, or it might discuss or describe the unique terminology associated with the topic.
  5. The body of your paper should answer the questions posed in the problem. Explain how you approached and answered the question or solved the problem, and, for each question, show all steps involved. Be sure the Word document is in paragraph format, not numbered answers like a homework assignment.
  6. The conclusion should summarize your thoughts about what you have determined from the data and your analysis, often with a broader personal or societal perspective in mind. Nothing new should be introduced in the conclusion that was not previously discussed in the body paragraphs. Your conclusion should emanate (be aligned with) your findings.
  7. Include any tables of data or calculations, calculated values, and/or graphs associated with this problem in the body of your assignment.
  8. Document formatting, citations, and style should conform to the Citing & APA Resources page (Links to an external site.). A short summary containing guidelines for paper formatting, citations, and references is contained in the New Sample APA Paper (Links to an external site.). In addition, information in the CSU-Global Virtual Library under the Writing Center/APA Resources tab (Links to an external site.) has many helpful areas (Writing Center, Writing Tips, Template & Examples/Papers & Essays, and others).
